The Kansas City Chiefs have released their seven gameday inactives for Sunday’s matchups against the New Orleans Saints and there are some new names involved.

Inactive:

TE Kevin Boss, S Kendrick Lewis, TE Jake O’Connell, CB Jacques Reeves, QB Ricky Stanzi, NT Anthony Toribio, WR Devon Wylie

There wasn’t much change for the Chiefs over the first two weeks, but thanks to injuries, there are three players inactive who played in both of the first two games of the season.

Boss, O’Connell and Reeves all suited up in the losses to the Atlanta Falcons and Buffalo Bills. All three were previously ruled out by head coach Romeo Crennel after missing practice during the week.

With two tight ends being inactive, the Chiefs will see Steve Maneri at that position for the first time on Sunday. He played for Kansas City last season as an offensive tackle, though he did make a catch against the Pittsburgh Steelers that knocked out S Troy Polamalu. On top of Maneri’s debut, it’s also the first time this season the Chiefs offense will only have two active tight ends.

Sunday’s game also will be the first time this season Bailey and Gray are able to suit up in 2012. Bailey played in all 16 games last year as a rookie, but has been slowed by an ankle injury this year. Gray, the Chiefs sixth-round pick in April, is making his NFL debut but isn’t likely to carry the ball with Jamaal Charles, Peyton Hillis and Shaun Draughn all ahead of him.

After missing time earlier in the week, G Ryan Lilja will play and start for the Chiefs despite being designated “questionable” on Friday. The other “questionable” players active this afternoon are Charles and WR Dexter McCluster.
